I have been drawing horses and dogs in pencil for many years, but developed my pastel work during the Covid-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020. I still love drawing in pencil, but I also love the vibrant colours of pastels.
Predominantly, I draw animals. I have two horses and two dogs of my own, and so these animals do feature heavily in my artwork, however, I will happily draw any animals. I live in the rural Shropshire/Worcestershire borders and love nothing more than escaping on foot or horseback to discover the glorious landscapes on my doorstep. I also train and work my own dogs as gundogs.
I love to travel and before the Covid crisis struck, I worked in the travel sector full-time. Now part-furloughed, my art has filled the gap and I have more time for commissions. I have been lucky enough to visit some beautiful countries and have a particular soft spot for Africa and it’s wildlife.
